Getting business to business leads from a website is difficult to do,  and even harder to measure results. When it works, however, it is a valuable resource to get leads and new business. Measuring the success of business to business brick and mortar business Internet Marketing efforts can be very difficult. Internet sales businesses have it easy – the more effective the marketing, the more sales they get.  Retail businesses likewise have it easy – their websites just have to provide clear information on what they do, why they are the best, and provide contact information so people can call them. It is,however, just about impossible to get a potential business customer to fill out a form, and it is no fun passively waiting for interested customers to call. In many cases businesses just put up a basic presence website and hope for the best. There is, however, a better way. Read the rest of this entry

I love talking to people that have started their own business. There are so many different ways of providing value to people and getting paid for it, whenever I have these conversations I find that I learn something new. One of the things I have discovered is that not many people have made their website presence into something that brings them leads, business, and additional revenue. There are some great ways to take information that most businesses already have available and use it to turbo-charge their Internet Marketing. Read the rest of this entry

There are three basic types of live information delivery to a group of people that are in use these days – speeches, slideshows, and white board sessions. They each have their places, and in some cases the size of the group and the information being delivered dictate the format. I love listening to a well delivered speech, and for a small group a white board session is wonderful. As far as slideshows in the form of powerpoint presentations go, however, I hate them in all forms. Read the rest of this entry

The whiteboard can be a very effective tool when used properly in a group meeting. Having done hundreds of sales calls, it is my preferred tool for an impromptu discussion. It can be used to allow the participants in the meeting to see what is possible, then help them to create a custom plan of action that is based on their needs and requirements. The whiteboard also allows for brief technical tangents to more fully discuss a portion of the solution, and also to show that the person wielding the whiteboard pen knows their stuff.

At the end of the session, the whiteboard is then filled with a complete plan of action. You know you have done your job when members of the audience come up afterwards and take pictures of the filled up whiteboard!

Many of you know I have been researching a lot into Internet Marketing for business. I have learned quite a bit from the people who make a full time paycheck from selling products online, and have reviewed many of their courses. There are a bunch of different ways to sell online, and what I wanted was the minimum amount of work for maximum profit.

I finally found a course that I can recommend, which is for the complete beginner, and gets people making money by selling products online and getting paid commission, just by writing and posting articles that indirectly link back to major online stores like Amazon, Eastern Mountain Sports, and others. It started out as a simple goal really. My company is one the top resellers of Cisco phone systems in the Southeast, and we have our main office in Atlanta. All I wanted was that if someone did a search engine search for Cisco Phone System Atlanta that my business’s website would be listed on the first page of results. That certainly was not the situation when I first began the process.

The improvement process was slow initially. It took about a year to have our website redone onto a content management system instead of the static HTML pages that it was first deployed on. After some initial difficulty we found an excellent Atlanta website development company that was able to make the changes that we wanted, and they put our website on a WordPress platform. As the owner of a company with two offices, lots of salespeople driving around meeting with people to develop business, and deployment and support guys out and about installing, upgrading, and fixing things, it frustrates me to no end when customers or prospects buy complex equipment online.

I pay local taxes, support local businesses, and have 40 people on my payroll that I pay twice a month, all locally! This money that I put back into the local economy helps keep other local companies in businesses, then they turn around and send that money out of state. It makes me want to yell at them for being so shortsighted! Read the rest of this entry
